40-acre brush fire burns in East Tennessee

BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- About 40 acres burned in a fast moving brush fire in southern Blount County Monday.

Images from Skycam 8 show the extent of the damage, and shows you how close it came to homes.

The fire began around 1:00 p.m. off Gillenwater Court, and burned right up to highway 129 before it was extinguished around 3:30.

So far there's no word on a cause.

Firefighters from three departments and the Department of Forestry helped fight the blaze.
