SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A 21 year-old Sevierville man was killed late Thursday night after his car went off the road and hit a brick column mailbox along Old Sevierville Pike, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
THP reports indicate Charles Lawson was trying to pass another vehicle neat Bell Chapel Lane when he lost control of his 1990 Acura Integra. It went off the road and struck the mailbox on the driver's side before deflecting into a utility pole.
No one else was in the car with him. THP added he was wearing a seat belt.
