LEBANON, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested a Lebanon woman accused of neglect and abuse that contributed to her 3-year-old daughter’s death earlier this year.
The Van Buren County grand jury indicted her in the case Monday.
Twenty-two year old Samantha Brymer-Armstrong was indicted on one count of child abuse of a child under eight years old and one count of child neglect of a child under eight years old.
On March 7, 2013, Brymer-Armstrong’s daughter, Kayleigh Armstrong was found not breathing in a swimming pool at their home on Old State Highway in Spencer.
CPR was performed and Kayleigh was transported to the White County Hospital where hospital staff were able to regain a pulse and labored breathing.
She was then transported to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga where she died the next day.
Brymer-Armstrong told investigators that she left Kayleigh unattended for more than an hour while she played video games with headphones on in the back bedroom.
The 31st Judicial District Attorney General requested TBI investigate the death in July of 2013.
Brymer-Armstrong was booked into the Van Buren County Jail on $25,000 bond.
