MADISONVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A 21 year-old Madisonville man was killed when his car struck a utility pole and burst into flames late Wednesday night, according to Tennessee Highway Patrol reports.
Authorities say Billy Williford, Jr., was heading east on Mason Rd. around 9:45 p.m. when he lost control of his car over a hill near the Badger Rd. intersection.
Williford's 2003 Nissan 350Z went off the left side of the road and slammed into the utility pole. It, then, bounced off the pole and ended up in the middle of the road where it was quickly engulfed in flames.
CORRECTION: The story initially said the crash happened on Thursday night. It has been updated to read Wednesday.
