OAK RIDGE, Tenn (WVLT) - A representative from Oak Ridge Associated University tells Local 8 News that the 'red light camera' scam alert sent out by the Oak Ridge Police Department was actually a training exercise.
Pam Bonee, Director of Communications for ORAU, says the email was only meant for employees and she does not know how police got it.
Bonee also tells us, that if a person would have clicked on the links within the email, they would have seen that it was a training exercise.
The Oak Ridge Police Department sent the warning out Monday afternoon.
The department said several people living in Oak Ridge received the email.
