Knoxville man killed in wreck on the Dragon

BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - A Knoxville man was killed and 21-year old woman was seriously injured Thursday in a wreck on The Dragon in Blount County.

Harold Roy Sheely, 69, and Tiffany Bell of Oak Ridge, were both flown to the UT Medical Center. Sheely died at the hospital. Bell was listed in critical but stable condition.

The wreck happened around 11:30 a.m. at mile marker 2 of the stretch of U.S. Highway 129 known as "The Dragon."

The Blount County Sheriff's Office said Bell went off an embankment when she tried to go around a sharp curve. Her car hit a tree and came to a rest.

Both Sheely, who was the passenger, and Bell were wearing their seatbelts.
