KPD: Wrong-way crash on I-40 involved alcohol

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Police say alcohol may have been a factor in an overnight wrong-way crash.

It happen around Saturday at 12:40 AM on I-40 east near the Papermill Drive exit.

Police say the driver of a Toyota RAV4 was exiting the highway to Papermill Drive when the driver of a Hummer H3 was driving westbound on the exit ramp.

The two cars hit head on.

The passenger in the RAV4 received non-life threatening injuries. The drivers of both vehicles were not injured.
