MORRISTOWN, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Tennessee Highway Patrol says drinking was a factor in a deadly crash in Hamblen County.
It happened at 11:23 on Friday night.
THP says 71-year-old Hamalton Fairchild was driving east on Panther Creek Road when he mis-judged a curve and drove off the right side of the road.
That's when troopers say he crashed into a tree.
THP officers say a test done after the crash tested positive for alcohol but tested negative for drugs.
Hamalton was wearing his seat-belt.
