MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT/WVLT) -- Calvary Baptist Church Pastor Tim Burden says The Band Perry has offered to cover the cost of the funeral for the nine Watson family members who were killed in a house fire early Thursday morning.
The father and one daughter, age 11, are still recovering at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. The two were the only ones able to make it outside the home.
Burden says they are improving slowly, and they are asking for continued prayers for the family.
More than 100 people gathered at Calvary Baptist Church in Central City Friday evening for a candlelight vigil. Those in attendance sang "Amazing Grace" and sat in silence as they held lit candles to remember the family.
At the front of the sanctuary stood 11 candles, two in blue for the surviving father and daughter, and nine for the other eight children and their mother.
