Sevier Co. substitute teacher accused of assaulting student

SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - A substitute teacher in Sevier County is no longer with the system after being accused of assaulting a middle school student.

According to a police report, Elizabeth Leiser grabbed a male student by the throat and pushed him to the floor at Sevierville Middle School on Friday.

Leiser denied the accusation when asked about it by the principal.

She was asked to leave for the day and was later removed as a substitute.

Charges have not been filed.
