Strawberry Plains man killed in fiery motorcycle crash

COCKE COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Strawberry Plains man was killed in a crash around 5:15 PM Saturday on State Highway 160.

THP says 34-year-old George Lachance was driving north on his motorcycle when he lost control on a curve and crossed the center line.

He hit a truck driven by 50-year-old Cary White, of Bybee. He was pulling a trailer.

Both vehicles went off the road. White's trailer flipped and Lachance's bike went down an embankment and caught fire.

Troopers say they believe Lachance had been under the influence of alcohol.

No citations were issued and no charges were filed.

White was injured, his condition is unknown.
