Teen to be tried as an adult in officer involved shooting

A Knoxville Juvenile Court judge has ordered a 17-year old boy be tried as an adult for a burglary and officer involved shooting.

Tony Dixon is charged with especially aggravated burglary.

Police charged Dixon and two others in the May 20 incident in which KPD Officer Norman Rickman was shot multiple times.

Offiver Rickman was responding to a burglary call.

He was released from UT Medical Center in early June.

Also charged are 26-year-old Cleven Johnson and 32-year-old James William Murry.
