NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Police say a 14-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder for an attack on his parents at their upscale Nashville home.
The teen was charged Thursday for the stabbings of Bill Powell, 80, a former Nashville car dealer, and his wife Deborah, 54, at their Belle Meade home Sunday night. They remain in stable condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Police said their son had a mental evaluation after the attack, and was taken into custody Thursday. He had been taking medication for depression, officers said.
Police gave no motive for the attack.
Bill Powell once owned Nashville's Capital Chevrolet and Honda dealerships.
