GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Have you ever thought of camping as glamorous? You might change your mind after you stop by the Camp LeConte in Gatlinburg.
The outdoor resort features safari style tent homes where you can sleep in a bed, or even flip on the AC.
It's called "glamping" and has become very popular out west, now Camp LeConte decided to try it out here.
"It is glamorous camping. It's for all the people who love to camp but want the glamorous side of it," said Linzy Nicely, of Camp LeConte Luxury Outdoor Resort. "Still enjoying nature you can still do the bonfire, the s'mores, still get outside we're very close to Gatlinburg."
Nicely says business has been steady. Also, featured on the property 30ft up is a tree house style home. It's become popular with families.
"It's all screened in, so it's like sleeping in a big ole screened in porch. the loft is about 10ft up it's all padded so it's for sleeping. It's great for kids," said Nicely.
Gatlinburg’s newest campground has a full hook-up 20-30-50 amp RV sites with satellite TV. There's also sites for just tent camping.
