Knoxville firefighters battle two house fires in one hour

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knoxville Fire Department kept busy Friday night with two house fires within an hour.

The first happened around 10:25 p.m. in the 5600 block of Walden Avenue, just off Northshore Drive in West Knoxville.

Within three minutes of receiving several 911 calls, crews were on the scene. No one was found inside the home.

While crews were putting out hot spots, the second fire was reported on W. Emerald Avenue in North Knoxville around 11:30 p.m.

Firefighters say flames were coming from the front door onto a covered porch when they arrived. No one was found inside that home, either.

The cause of the two fires has not been determined.
