KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knox County Sheriff's Office says it is investigating an attempted armed robbery.

It happened around 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Bramblewood Apartments on Bramblewood Lane.

Investigators say a Morristown man arranged to meet a woman through a social networking website at the complex.

Once inside the apartment, deputies say two females and one male tried to rob the man at gunpoint.

He managed to run off and find an officer.

The suspects have been identified, but are not in custody. Investigators are not releasing their names.
