Semi carrying ice cream jackknifes on I-40 W in Knoxville, one lane closed

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A tractor trailer hydroplaned and jackknifed, spilling ice cream on Interstate 40 W near the N. 17th Street and Alcoa Highway exits around 11:20 a.m. Sunday.

Police say the crash initially closed all but two lanes of traffic. Only the right lane and shoulder are currently blocked.

Traffic will continue to be sluggish in the area until the cargo is transferred into another trailer, which is expected to take until at least 3:30 p.m.

TDOT recommends drivers use I-640 as a detour.
