Shooting at Sevier County rental cabin leaves two dead

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A shooting at a rental cabin in Sevier County has left two people dead.

According to the Sevier County Sheriff's Office, a woman called 911 to report two people were shot inside a rental cabin.

Police and EMS found a woman on a bed, shot multiple times but still alive, and a man, shot once, dead on the bedroom floor.

The woman was taken by ambulance to LeConte Medical Center but died on the way to the hospital.

The Sevier County Sheriff's Office interviewed relatives also staying in the cabin and determined the victims were husband and wife. The two have been identified as 48-year-old Genevieve Crosby and 52-year-old Richard Crosby, from Tarpon Springs, Florida. Ms. Crosby was vacationing with her father, mother and daughter.
