'Possible drowning' call ends in arrest

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knoxville Police officers were called to Volunteer Landing just before midnight for a possible drowning.

Witnesses say 23-year-old Evelyn Radford stripped down to her underwear before jumping into the water, swimming toward the south side of the river.

They say she was in an argument with her boyfriend before jumping into the water. He left the scene shortly after.

Knoxville Fire Department boats and the Knoxville Rescue Squad both searched for the victim.
