1 person on ballot for city clerk in Lenoir City

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (AP) -- With a single vote, Bobby Johnson Jr. would become the city clerk in Lenoir City.

The Knoxville News Sentinel reported Johnson is the only candidate on the ballot for the post, which also has city recorder and treasurer duties.

Loudon County Election Commissioner Dana Zehner said Johnson is the only qualified candidate on the November ballot.

Zehner said any write-in candidate would have to receive at least 25 votes to qualify as a candidate.

Johnson currently serves as chairman of the Loudon County school board and works full time for the Lenoir City parks and recreation department.

City. She reccommended me and final decision was left up to the board. However, I was past over numberous times without any explanations, from said board. Mr. Johnson has no credentials for the job. I fear it will be good ole' LC politics once again. Where funds are misappropriated and the good ole' boys spend what they can. I would have made a difference, by providing a service for the public and would not withhold public information about where taxpayers monies are going. Alas....let the sufferage begin!
