WHITE PINE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A community is mourning the loss of a 3-year old boy killed while trick-or-treating.
Police say he was with his brother, father and grandfather and was run over by their own vehicle.
It happened around 6:30pm Thursday night on Douglas Street.
Sergeant Paul Lowe of the White Pine Police Department told Local 8 News, the boy jumped out of the van while it was moving but was somehow struck by the back wheels.
Police originally said Kadin Robinson was 4, but later updated that information. His 4th birthday would have been later this month.
"The family actually picked the child back up and called 911 as they drove him to the EMS station because they thought that would be the quickets way to get him some help," said Detective Chad Cotter, with White Pine Police. "As any family would be, they're trying to take it the best that they can, we've had several churches offer food and moral support."
Kadin's grandfather, who was driving, could face charges. Police may send the case to the grand jury.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, 7:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home in White Pine with the Rev. Brian Osborne officiating. There will be a private interment service.
