KNOXVILLE , Tenn (WVLT/AP) -- CBS News, the Associated Press, and WVLT-TV project John McCain (R) will win in Tennessee.
According to the AP, the call was based on an analysis of voter interviews, conducted for The Associated Press by Edison Media Research and Mitofsky International.
The win give McCain the state's 11 electoral votes.
In Knoxville, 55-year-old Arleen Erbele said she voted for McCain because her son has been in Iraq for two deployments and if we "pull out and lose Iraq, his being there was for nothing."
The Associated Press projects incumbant Senator Lamar Alexander will beat Democrat Robert Tuke in the race for the U.S. Senate seat in Tennessee.
