NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- It's been almost half a century since Tennessee voters did not agree with the rest of the country in choosing a president.
The state voted in favor of Republican John McCain Tuesday in his losing presidential race to Democrat Barack Obama.
In 1960, Tennessee voted for Richard Nixon instead of John F. Kennedy. The state has voted for the White House winner every year since then until now.
