3 Kentucky men plead guilty to Sevierville gun battle charges

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Three Kentucky men who wound up in a gunfight during a drug deal gone bad in Sevierville, Tenn., will serve up to three years in prison for two deaths.

According to The Mountain Press (http://bit.ly/KG7DBz ), Matthew Oakes, Jacob Sharp and Marcus Chaney, all of Somerset, Ky., each pleaded guilty to two counts of reckless homicide. They admitted their actions led to the deaths of Brandon Breitweiser and Brandon Lindsey, both of Sevier County.

The three told authorities they went to an apartment in February 2011 to make a drug deal with Breitweiser, Lindsey and a third man, Ronnie Ray McClure. When they got to the apartment, though, their contacts attacked them. Authorities say men from both groups then participated in a shootout.

McClure is already serving 18 years.
