Knoxville (WVLT) - Knox County investigators spent most of the evening Monday checking out Chevy Blazers, possibly connected to a deadly hit and run that claimed the life of a UT student.
One in particular was checked and has not been ruled out, but at this hour, there is no evidence connecting it to the crime.
Police say they've had a few tips, but at this point, they still have not found the man that hit 20-year-old Morgan McCarty of Jackson early Saturday morning.
Authorities say McCarty was crossing the street at 17th and Highland with a group of people near campus when police say the vehicle swerved to avoid one person, and then hit her.
McCarty suffered severe head injuries and died later at UT Medical Center.
Police say the suspect is a young white man with short hair, driving a white Chevy Blazer with a damaged headlight. There may be more damage on the front of the vehicle.
