Trio arrested for Weigels robbery

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Three people have been arrested in connection with a north Knoxville convenience store robbery.

Knoxville Police say Jerel Mathis, 25, Willie Desmond Soles, 18, and a 17 year old have each been charged with one count of armed robbery.

The trio is believed to have robbed the Weigels in the 1700 block of Merchant’s Drive on Sunday. Witnesses said the suspects had guns and escaped with an undetermined amount of cash.
