(WVLT) - Police believe alcohol played a factor in a crash that killed one person early this morning. The Knoxville Police Department says traffic was stopped in I-40 Eastbound near the Bridgewater Exit because of construction when a woman ran her car into the back of a semi truck just after midnight. The car was pinned underneath the trailer. Police had to cut the woman out of the vehicle but she died of her injuries. Investigators are still working to identify the victim and notify her next of kin. The driver of the semi-truck was not hurt.
