(WVLT) - Firefighters are now looking for the cause of an early morning fire at an East Knoxville home. They received the call at about 5:15 this morning and went to the home on the 6200 block of Washington Pike. The four people that were inside the home all got out okay. Firefighters say the blaze started in the attic. And although there is significant damage, it's pretty much contained to that portion of the home.
"Most of the belongings are protected because the majority of the fire was up in the attack, so luckily most of their belongings are going to be fine," said Jeremy Rood, Battalion Chief with Rural Metro. Investigators aren't sure yet what caused the fire.
