Chattanooga (AP) - A boy whose disappearance prompted an AMBER alert has been found safe and now police have picked up the man suspected of taking him from his home in Sequatchie County.
Authorities say 11-year-old Shawn Neeley was left at a home in Hamilton County Monday.
Ron Rice of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department says Shawn was watching Nickelodeon on TV last evening while waiting for Sequatchie County authorities to come and get him.
Chattanooga Police spotted 37-year-old John Martin about 9:30 p.m. Monday night and arrested him. Authorities say he faces especially aggravated kidnapping charges in Sequatchie County.
Martin is described as a friend of the boy's mother. Authorities say he was looking after Shawn on Sunday, but failed to bring him home. Concern was raised when police found Martin had a criminal record with armed robbery and drug charges.
