All westbound lanes on I-40 are now re-open after a deadly crash.
According to dispatch I-40 westbound was shutdown near Lovell Road for several hours this afternoon because of a multi vehicle accident.
Rural Metro is confirming that one person died in the wreck, but won't release the victim's name.
The victim was driving a pickup truck with out of state plates.
Witnesses tell us the truck stopped or stalled on the interstate causing a Jeep to hit the truck, causing the truck to explode into a ball of flames.
Apparently other cars then hit the wreck.
The wreck caused major backups on Middlebrook Pke and Kingston Pike.
