Local Armories to be Named After Fallen Soldiers

Lenoir City, Loudon County (WVLT) - Two area soldiers who died in Iraq will receive a lasting tribute this weekend.

The Lenoir City Armory will be dedicated to Sergeant First Class Stephen C. Kennedy of Oak Ridge.

He died in a firefight in Iraq, April 4th, 2005.

The dedication service is at 10:00 a.m., Saturday.

And the armory in Jacksboro will be named for Sergeant Alfred Barton Siler of the Pruden community.

He died May 25th, 2005 in an attack on his convoy in Iraq.

The dedication service for Siler is Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
