Senate Candidates Making Final Push

Chattanooga (WVLT) - The election is only a day away and the candidates are campaigning hard for your vote.

Both Bob Corker and Congressman Harold Ford Junior have been hitting the streets, meeting with fans and thanking their supporters. Both were in Knoxville Monday.

Ford made a lunch stop at Calhoun's in West Knoxville, joining him was Congressman Lincoln Davis.

Dozens of supporters lined the streets, he also met with people inside the restaurant.

Right now he's in Memphis at a rally, he also stopped in Centerville. Later Monday, he'll head back to Knoxville to spend the night.

"I'm ready to go to work, I see and feel a sense of support. I'm ready to go to the U.S. Senate and represent everyone," says Ford.

On the Corker side of things, I followed him from Knoxville to here in Chattanooga Monday.

He arrived at Downtown Krutch Park around 10:00 a.m. with Senator John McCain, Senator Bill Frist and Senator Lamar Alexander.

It was the beginning of a long day, barnstorming on his bus and he became rather reflective about his run for the Senate.

"Ok, it's almost over, I want you to know that I have actually enjoyed meeting my opponent, I enjoyed talking to him before the debates, I enjoyed talking to him after the debates and I've especially enjoyed meeting him at the Memphis airport," says Corker.

Following his talk in Knoxville, corker took off for his hometown of Chattanooga, where we caught up with him, his mother and a lot of friends.

From our observation, both of these candidates are going like mad at the last second and they're pretty tired right now.

We'll have more from the two candidates in just a few minutes.
