Sole Survivor of Canton Hollow Accident Could Go Home Monday

Knoxville (WVLT) - The sole survivor of a wreck on Canton Hollow Road this weekend is expected to be released from the hospital Monday.

Twenty-five -year old Anne Birch has been at UT since shortly after the accident early Saturday morning.

Twenty-five-year-old Paul Dinwiddie, 24-year-old Tara Baker, and 36-year-old Dana Williams all died in crash.

The Knox County Sherrif's Department tells WVLT Dinwiddie was speeding in a Chevy Blazer when he rounded a curve on Canton Hollow Road around three a.m. Saturday and hit a tree head on.

One of the victim's step brothers says the family's grief is just beginning.

""Didn't think it could happen, at least not to us," says Taylor Peak. "Empty spot in the family, just not there, not the same."

Funeral arrangements for 24-year-old Tara baker have are now complete.

Visitation is tonight from 5 to 8 at Highland Memorial on Kingston Pike.

And the funeral is Tuesday morning at 11 at the Highland Memorial Chapel.
