Weather Alert: Strong to severe storms are expected tonight
Memphis (AP) -- Defeated Senate Candidate Harold Ford Junior urged his supporters early Wednesday morning not to lose faith in America or the political process.
He said he was going to pray for strength to grow and be a better person.
Ford, losing the first race of his career, asked his supporters at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis not to get angry about the defeat.
He said he still believes there is a better way for the country to conduct itself and a better way for the country to lead.
