Knoxville (WVLT) - A voting machine from the Downtown West early voting location is being analyzed right now at a lab off Middlebrook Pike.
At stake 2600 votes still trapped inside the machine.
Votes that could decide whether or not Knox County deputies get a boost in their pension.
The machine was moved from the Knox County Election Commission to Control Technology Incorporated's lab just about 11:00 a.m.
The reason it's there, engineers from the Denver manufacturer of the machine were unable to access the 2,600 votes from the machine by hand last night.
Right now, engineers are taking the memory chips out of the voting machine and putting them on another memory board to read them.
Right now, the pension plan is narrowly passing, There are 723 more yes votes than no votes.
Volunteer TV's Stephen McLamb is covering the operation out there, and what it means for the pension plan.
