Knoxville (WVLT) What happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas, but at least you'll soon be able to get there on a non-stop flight out of Knoxville.
Allegiant Air will begin offering direct flights to Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport from Knoxville's McGhee Tyson Airport beginning in February of next year.
Allegiant will offer four departures a week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 7:50 pm.
Return red-eye flights arrive in Knoxville on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 6:20 in the morning, though the actual departure from Las Vegas is the day before at 11:30 in the evening.
All flights will be on MD-80 jet airplanes.
Service begins on February 15th, 2007, with introductory fares as low as $99 one way.
In September, Allegiant announced plans to begin service to Knoxville in December with direct flights to St. Petersburg, Florida.
Las Vegas will be their second direct flight out of McGhee-Tyson Airport.
"It's exciting for Knoxville," said Diane Pyne, a travel agent with Knoxville's World Travel. "Vegas is one of the top destinations from Knoxville."
Tickets to Las Vegas are available through Allegiant's website right now.
