Knoxville (WVLT) - Take one look out the window and it won't be hard to believe there's a chance we'll see some snow in the East Tennessee area tonight.

Meteorologists in the Super Pinpoint 8 Weather Center say there is an increasing chance of snow throughout the WVLT viewing area, particularly later tonight.

Weather Specialist Allison Hunt says "we're likely going to see a little of the white stuff in the upper elevations, particularly around the Gatlinburg area."

But that doesn't mean if you live in the Valley that you're in the clear. Hunt says, "in the Valley we'll likely see some snow mixed with rain, but not until probably after midnight."

Another big concern for the East Tennessee area will be the morning commute, as the snow storms are expected to last until mid-morning on Monday. The snow isn't expected to stick to the ground in the Valley this time, but the rains mixed with freezing temperatures could mean dangerous driving conditions overnight.
