Whitley County, KY (WVLT) - A Southern Kentucky man is facing several charges, including attempted murder, after authorities say he tried to kill a police officer.
Kentucky police say 31-year-old Jackie Sulfridge began shooting at Sheriff Lawrence Hodge late Saturday night from a car, during a break-in investigation on Long Bottom Road in Whitley County.
After a chase, Sheriff Hodge and other deputies placed the Sulfridge under arrest, and found two small children in the back seat of the car.
The children were not hurt.
Sulfridge is also charged with child endangerment.
Ashley Sulfridge was also arrested and charged with trespassing, plus alcohol and drug charges.
