Knox county's Health Department is taking steps to make sure all of us are safer from the flu.
Workers set up clinics at Austin East and Bearden High Schools Saturday. The shots and flu mist were free for Knox County students and teachers. Every other Knox County resident had to pay 15 dollars.
Health workers say vaccinating the children is a major step in keeping our community safe.
"We're trying to vaccinate the children and protect the community. We think if we keep the children healthy, keep them from getting the flu, the we'll keep the community healthy," public health officer Martha Buchanan said.
Health workers tell us today was their last Saturday clinic. If you missed it, don't worry, Baptist Health Systems is offering several this month.
