Body of Burning Man Identified From Prison Records

Rogersville, Hawkins County (AP) -- Hawkins County authorities say prison tattoo records helped identify a human body found burning beside a road near Surgoinsville.

Authorities say the person was 33-year-old Jason Drake, whose last known address was in Kingsport.

Sheriff Roger Christian says Drake also had ties the Oak Ridge area.

Christian says an autopsy should shed light on how Drake died.

A newspaper carrier reported seeing a small fire near a road and the deputy responding to it discovered the body on fire Saturday.

Christian says a tattoo on drake's upper right arm that read "Bird Man Still Fly" matched when checked against the Correction Department records on prisoners' tattoos. The identity was confirmed through fingerprints.
