Washington (AP) -- There's a warning that a terrorist cleric who's behind bars in the US may be nearing death.
And officials are concerned that the death of Omar Abdel Rahman could trigger an attack on the US.
Several law enforcement officials say there's no credible information that an attack is about to happen. But the FBI, in a bulletin issued last week, reported that Rahman was rushed from prison to a Missouri hospital two days earlier for a blood transfusion. It says doctors found a tumor on his liver.
Officials say the bulletin was merely a reminder that Rahman had called for retaliation by terror sympathizers if he died in prison.
Rahman was sentenced to life in prison after his conviction in 1995 for his advisory role in a plot to blow up New York City landmarks.
