Knoxville (WVLT) - The wait is over after years of trying to figure out what to do with the former site of the Farmer's Market.
Knox County Mayor Mike Ragsdale and members of a citizen committee broke ground Monday morning on New Harvest Park.
The eight-acre park is the county's first park with an East Tennessee theme.
The playground will take the shape of a barn and the splash pad will be in the form of a riverboat.
The park will also include retail space.
Twenty-six-acres of the site will remain ridge trails.
