KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Former Vol backup quarterback "Jim Bob" Cooter, whose real name is James Robert Cooter, is facing aggravated burglary charges after allegedly getting into bed with a woman after climbing through a window of her Fort Sanders apartment, according to an arrest warrant.

The warrant says Cooter climbed through woman's window on Franklin Station Way, stripped down to his underwear and got into bed with the woman Saturday.

She called police, who found him in her bed and arrested him on an aggravated burglary charge. He was released the following day on a $10,000 bond and will be arraigned on July 13.

Cooter is originally from Fayetteville, Tennessee and graduated from UT in 2006. He served as a graduate assistant on Coach Philip Fulmer's staff from 2007-2008. He currently works for the Indianapolis Colts as a staff assistant.

He turns 25 on July 3rd.

Any news on Jim Bob Cooters arraignment . It was schedule to be today. If the charges are dropped or reduced I hope the media jumps on that as quick as they did the charges. Thrown down hard a few times myself.

How can you say he made a "smart" decision by not driving? Was it "smart" that he broke into an apartment through a window? The girl was never in a dangerous situation? Put your sister in that apartment with a man breaking in, tell then its not "dangerous". Jim Bob has a history of drinking and getting in trouble. He was slapped on the wrist earlier in life when Fulmer had the zero tolerence policy in action. JB was the only one let back on the team after he was arressted the same month the policy went into "so-called" effect. Maybe JB should quit making excuses and realize daddy can't get him out of everything. He better hope the Colts don't find out!

Yet another VOL or former VOL in trouble with the law! When is it ever going to end?! What the hell is wrong with these strong-headed athletes (or former athletes) that are supposed to be college educated people that they keep making stupid decisions on their actions?! They need to start putting some of these idiots in jail instead of giving them a slap on the wrist!!!

The only true story was posted by Elizabeth earlier. I just got the story from family member of Jim Bob and this is a complete mixup. He was actually making a smart decision by not drinking and driving. The police may have saved this girl from a potentially dangerous situation but the REAL facts are that she was NEVER in a dangerous situation.

I live in the apartment complex and saw all of this go on. She did not "beg" the cops to not arrest Jim Bob. She was apparently unaware of who it was for quite awhile after the cops had arrived but to say Knoxville police are inadequate is not right, they saved her from a potentially dangerous situation.

This has been such a HUGE mistake! I've known JB since I was little. Jim Bob is an amazing, brilliant guy (ACT score:34 - what'd you make?) who chose sports instead of medicine, which he easily could have done instead. He was going to the apartment of a friend where he had stayed a hundred times over the years. He had no idea his friend had sublet the apartment. Once the woman figured out she knew him, the cops still insisted on arresting him, even though she begged them not to. I think this shows how inadequate and awful Knoxville police truly are. They knew it would be sensationalized in the news. Get your facts right people! Stop convicting innocent people.
