TDOT Will Suspend Road Work Through Holidays

Knoxville (WVLT) - If you're hitting the roadways between today and New Year's, the Tennessee Department of Transportation is giving you a break!

Construction crews will stop road work Thursday and won't pick back up again until January second.

There may still be some lane closures here and there for major projects.

AAA is expecting more than 1.6 million people to travel through the Volunteer State during the long holiday period.
