Sevier County (WVLT) - A family, Hurricane Katrina forced out, is once again getting a fresh start.
The Rome family moved here to East Tennessee and recently lost everything they had in a Sevier County house fire.
Now, it looks like things are turning around.
Thursday afternoon, the family started moving into their newly-build house, filled with all new furniture.
The family says they couldn't be more thankful.
"It's amazing, overwhelming, I'm in shock that people have been so wonderful to people who they don't even know. I mean, just a little family from Louisiana, don't know, don't know anybody, really, and people just came out and helped us so much. It's amazing to me," says Sheryl Rome.
Wednesday, Santa and Volunteer TV paid a special visit to the family, delivering new clothes and other necessities, just in time for Christmas. In addition to that delivery, the Romes' also received gift cards to help cover the cost of rebuilding their lives, thanks to donations from Hall's Salvage and Goody's.
