TDOT Construction Halted Through New Year

Knoxville (WVLT) - You'll be able to ring in the New Year without the worries of road construction in East Tennessee.

TDOT has temporarily stopped the work through the holidays, but you still need to be aware of some closures.

There's one lane closed on Clinton Highway near the I-640 overpass.

You'll find the Alcoa Highway "right exit only lane" to Neyland Drive closed.

And remember, James White Parkway remains closed to traffic until September 2007, you can use the new Hall Of Fame Drive Exit to access the Downtown area.

Road construction will resume on January second.

Even though there won't be workers on site right now, reduced speed limits are still being enforced.

Another reminder: in Tennessee, the law requires you to move over or slow down for stopped emergency vehicles.
