Knoxville (WVLT) - A businessman behind one of East Tennessee's most famous landmarks has died.
Robert Woodson was the prime developer of the Sunsphere.
He died Tuesday.
Woodson took an early interest in the World's Fair, which led to his involvement with the Sunsphere project.
He is also the founder of Woodson's Supermarket in LaFollette.
His family will be receiving friends Friday night from six until eight at Lafollette United Methodist Church, with funeral services following.
