Weather Alert: Strong to severe storms are expected tonight
Knoxville (WVLT) - Downtown Knoxville is one step closer to a new transit center.
Mayor Bill Haslam has announced the city will recommend building a $27 million facility at the east end of the Church Avenue Viaduct.
The mayor says a study of three proposed sites showed Church Avenue to have the best mix of location, construction and operating costs.
It also meets federal criteria.
