Nashville (WVLT) - Governor Bredesen says the state may use lottery reserves to help spur school building projects around Tennessee.
The Governor says finding money to build schools is as much of a problem for fast-growing counties near urban areas as it is in poor, rural areas.
The Governor said the lottery has built up around $200 million in what he considers reserves.
The Tennessee Constitution limits the state's use of lottery proceeds to college scholarships, early learning and after-school programs and capital projects for K-12 schools.
