Knoxville (WVLT) - For years, Michael's has been one of the area's most popular restaurants and lounges, but now it's closed until further notice.
The State Liquor Authority suspended the restaurant's liquor license on Friday. Michael's beer permit was temporarily suspended just before the new year.
Financial advisers will now review whether Michael's can support itself with just food sales and then determine the restaurant's future.
"This is a business and like most businesses, it depends on the cash flow, and there will have to be a professional analysis made. That's not a decision that can be made in the blink of an eye," Michael's attorney Jim Bell said.
"They says, well, okay, we can take away one thing, we're going to take away the complete whole program," customer William Simmons said.
Michael's has a hearing on its beer permit next week.
